HUNDREDS of mountain bikers are putting in the last few days of training before the epic 24 hour mountain bike race that is Mountain Mayhem, sponsored by Giant.
The 11th event of its kind to date will be held on June 20 over an 8.5mile course at Ledbury, County of Herefordshire.
Teams or riders compete for the best distance in the time - and there are still a few places on teams if you want to take part. Check out Bikeradar for some ideas and contacts or desperate pleas such as here.
All the fun kicks of at 8pm on Friday night with the launch of the inaugural SRAM 'Drag' race. As the name suggests, riders will turn out in drag for the mad, winner takes it all dash.
Headline sponsor Giant will be running the world's biggest bike demo and, as well as a huge fleet of Giant's 2008 bikes for you to test, there'll be many bikes from other brands too.
A word of warning: avoid getting mixed up with www.mountainmayhem.com which is a relatively new company that specialise in setting up stag dos among other things!
The Giant Mountain Mayhem is set to be a good day out for riders and non-riders as most of the big names will be there giving out freebies or simply joining in some fun and games.
Have your camera at the ready if you do go as there will be a photo competition running throughout the weekend.
Camping is free for this event.
Those with the best-dressed campsite could find themselves going home with £1,000 worth of holiday vouchers.
There's also a 'Spirit of Mayhem' award this year, for a person or team that sums up what Mayhem is all about.
Ticket2Ride and Kryptonite have teamed up to not only to offer a secure bike park, but are also offering a prize draw for a great holiday in Whistler. Every time you use the bike park you'll be issued with a ticket and be automatically entered into the prize draw.
For full details of what's happening where and when, check out www.mayhemworld.co.uk, there you'll find the Weekend Events tab with all this info and more.

I took part in MM08 this year, and it is everything that people say it is! It was an amazing experience, really well organised and great to compete with some of the best cyclists in eupore. MM08 is something that i would like to do year after year. I completed 8 laps myself in a team of 4, cycling through the nightshift with a set of lights provided by one of the sponsors. I competed for The Origional Source Team and was looked after very well by our team manager.I would heavily reccomend taking part in Mountainbike Mayhem if you are a cycling enthusiast but be ready this really is NO PUSH OVER!!!
