Mountain bike technical tips
KEEPING on top of bike maintenance is as important in summer as it is in winter. And this site dedicated to working out what to do when and to what may be just what you need.
Bicycle tutor has a heap of useful articles about the general odd jobs you need to carry out from time to time.

If you are looking for advice about what to do when, check out the bicycle repair guide and there is a range of weekly tutorials if you want to learn in a more methodical way.
Forums are also increasingly hot on putting riders in touch with one another about bike maintenance.
But never forget about your local bike shop techi. Fitting new forks, cranks or pedals can all benefit from a professional peep rather than DIY. The guys at Green Machine in Rivington are absolutely top notch as are the boys at buy a bike to name but two.
The great thing about this site, though, is that there are video demonstrations which makes it really easy to see what you are meant to be doing.
The list of maintenance tricks set out is pretty comprehensive with everything ranging from looking after bearings to tracking and cleaning.

Only just found your blog and quite enjoying it. There's some useful articles!
As for the bike maintenance, I swear by Mel Allwood's book, "Mountian Bike Maintenance". Great explanations and clear pictures. It helped me build my current steed!
