Launch of Google maps for mountain biking locations

MOUNTAIN bikers are always a little reluctant to get out the OS map and start thumbing through rides, bridleways and footpaths. There's a reason for this: getting stuck on a bridleway that's as thin as a needle with rocks the size Golliath would be scared of, is no fun.

So we've launched a mashup map that anyone can add to, detailing the best rides and where to find out about them.

You can add maps, pictures and coordinates - with a link to details of the ride elsewhere. Happy pinning!

Some of us might disagree I love exploring using a map on my bike, sometimes you end up carrying but that is all part of the fun.

Well I have to say, we are always using the maps so I think you might be right - a rephrase might be in order! But everyone seems to love these trail parks these days which is such a shame as they are always packed and you don't get the same sense of adventure! Please do post your favourite spot if you can - I will be updating mine with pics asap
